Epoxy Prep
Why floor prep matters before epoxy
Most people ask about color first. That makes sense, because color is what they see. But on an epoxy job, the part you do not see later is usually the part that decides how good the floor comes out.

Old coatings need attention
If a garage floor has old paint, a previous coating, or patchy areas, that surface has to be dealt with before a new system goes on top. Coating over a weak layer is asking the new floor to depend on something that may already be failing.
Cracks and stains should be talked about early
Small cracks, oil marks, and darker areas do not all mean the same thing. Some can be cleaned or repaired. Some may still leave a mark or need a different expectation. Photos help, but an honest prep conversation helps more.
Good prep makes the finish look calmer
A clean, prepared surface gives the coating a better chance to lay down evenly. It also keeps the job from turning into a surprise halfway through the install.
